Montreal Urban Transportation Plan

Attention bicycle communters, messengers, travellers, militants and sympathizers:

Tomorrow (Monday April 30) The Tremblay administration will present its new urban transportation plan during a press conference at 1pm, in the small park at the corner of de Maisonneuve west and Clark. This administration has been in power for 7 years, and although all its previous plans have promised support for urban cyclists, the actual results have typically been half-measures and disparate projects, aimed more towards pleasing recreational cyclists than meeting the needs of practical urban cyclists.

We will be at the press conference in numbers to show that we DO care about how cyclists are treated in the city, and to pressure the mayor to turn his promises into concrete action. We'll begin meeting at 12:30, so if this issue is an important one for you, come with friends, and pass this message along to anyone who might be interested.

See you tomrrow!
